Wired Alarm systems
Wired alarm systems make up most of the alarm systems installed into New Zealand homes. There are 2 main types;
- Monitored alarms
- Non Monitored
They are effective, require little maintenance, and are inexpensive to own. If these alarms are monitored they predominantly use the existing telephone wiring in the premises and dial through to the monitoring centre in the case of an activation. They therefore rely on the integrity of the phone lines for effective monitoring.
Monitoring fees are about $1.00 per day for residential.
Residential
Residential alarms offer the same quality as do our Commercial systems.
You will find one of our 2 line LCD keypads easier to use and understand. You can have sensors fitted to doors and windows so that your whole home can be armed while you are home. If any of these windows or doors are opened the alarm will activate immediately, in most cases stopping the intruder from even gaining access to your home.
These sensors are best installed when you are building a new home because the wiring is easier to install at that time. If you have pets bounding around this system is will not give false alarms. Call us for more information if you are building.
This type of sensor is well suited as a door chime so that when someone opens a door and the alarm is unarmed the keypad will sound a chime. Different doors can have different chimes.
Most NZ homes use the tried and proven PIR (passive infrared) sensors we see in the corners of rooms etc. There are many types of these used for different purposes. We will help you choose the right one.
When installing a new system, altering or building your home consider wired smoke detectors and heat detectors.
Heat detectors are ideal for areas not suited to
smoke detectors like kitchens or outside bathrooms.

SmartAlarm
SmartAlarm is a robust wireless security alarm system that texts and phones you on your mobile when activated.
Because it is wireless, it can be installed almost anywhere. For example; alarm your shed, boat, trailer, bach, home and business even if there are no power or telephone lines.
SmartAlarm uses the GSM (Vodafone) network to text and phone your mobile phone (any mobile phone) when an intruder activates your alarm. The SmartAlarm panel draws power from a battery that may be kept charged via a solar energy panel or where 240v or 12v power supply is available the alarm just plugs in to it.
SmartAlarm can be linked to PIR (Passive Infra Red) sensors - Pet immune or Standard, Smoke sensors, Door or Window Gap sensors, Float sensors, Gate and Perimeter sensors.
Because you monitor the alarm yourself there is no need for monitoring fees and no contracts.
Intruder alerts go to your mobile phone so if your alarm goes off you'll know within seconds. First you get a text message followed by a phone call. You enter your own PIN number into your mobile phone and you can listen for any unusual noises coming from your building. This may provide you with confirmation that you have an intruder and from here you make the decision as to what to do next. If you have a SmartCam you can dial it up and view part of your premises.
SmartAlarm is capable of calling you and 4 others - it rings the first person on the list and if the call is unanswered rings the next person until the phone is answered. All numbers receive a text message in the first instance.
When you shift house, just take the sensors down, unplug SmartAlarm and reinstall in next property - this feature allows you tp create your own flexible security system
Gate or Driveway beams placed across driveways will alert you when the beams are broken. There are several types we can recommend, depending on your needs. These can be linked into your SmartAlarm to notify you by mobile phone if the beam is broken.
CCTV / Video Recording is another option to add security to your property and allow you to see via camera what happens when you are not around. There are a large number of options available. We believe we have the solution at a competitive price.

Farmer
The SmartAlarm security alarm system is an obvious choice for farmers.
Typically you have expensive equipment stored in a shed which has no power and no telephone wires. You and your insurance company want additional security measures. SmartAlarm is the answer.
By installing a solar panel on the roof of your shed and running a cable down to the SmartAlarm unit you can have an uninterrupted power source. We fix the SmartAlarm unit to the inside of your shed, high up and out of the way. You don't need access to the SmartAlarm because it is turned on and off via remote control or by dialling it from your mobile phone.
If the signal is a problem we can install a high gain antenna - this usually sorts any issues.
We install pet immune PIR (passive infrared) sensors so your alarm is not activated by rodents or other small animals that may find their way into your shed. Options also include installing wireless door or window sensors which activate the alarm when opened.
When your alarm is activated you will receive a text message and a phone call. You enter your own PIN number into your mobile and you can listen for any unusual noises coming from your shed. This may provide you with confirmation that you have an intruder and from here you make the decision as to what to do next.
SmartAlarm can be used in any of your buildings, including your home.
Gate or Driveway Beams placed across driveways or tanker tracks will alert you when the beams are broken. There are several types we can recommend, depending on your needs. These can be linked into your SmartAlarm to notify you by mobile phone if the beam is broken.
CCTV / Video Recording is another option to add security to your property and allow you to see via camera what happens when you are not around. There are a large number of options available. We believe we have the solution at the best possible price.
Motorhome and Caravan
The SmartAlarm security alarm system is an obvious choice for motorhome and caravan owners.
Many motor home and caravan owners in New Zealand are finding this mobile alarm system the solution of choice. It provides reliable cost effective security allowing them to leave their vehicles with some confidence - a problem when your vehicle carries so many possessions.
If the alarm is triggered by an intruder SmartAlarm sends a test message and then calls the mobile phone. An internal or external siren alerts people around the vehicle and is a warning to the intruder that the owner takes their security seriously and they should get out.
Statistics show the quicker a burglar leaves the scene, the less they will take.
Having a SmartAlarm in your motor home will make potential burglars think twice before breaking in-working on the principle that an alarmed target may be too much trouble
Gap sensors fixed to hatch openings will also set your alarm off when they are opened.
Builder - Construction Site
The SmartAlarm security alarm system is another option for builders and constructions sites.
Building sites are vulnerable to theft of building materials and tools - particularly at night. By installing a SmartAlarm security system with a long life battery or solar energy providing power to the SmartAlarm builders can have security 24/7 during the entire construction process. This works well in conjunction with other security models as you get the immediacy of the text then phone call to your mobile phone.
Provide your sub-contractors with a remote control or get them to call you so you can turn your alarm off via your mobile phone. You will always know who is working on your site and when.
When the job is completed, just reinstall the SmartAlarm on your next project.
Perimeter sensors can also be installed linked to your SmartAlarm so you receive a text and phone call when the beam is broken.
Our SmartCam can be utilised with SmartAlarm in areas covered by Vodafone 3G to provide video footage on your mobile phone. Call your SmartCam when your alarm is activated.
