CCTV (Closed Circuit Television) is a visual surveillance technology with the capability to monitor a variety of environments and activities and is therefore an important element of management and security control.  Images from CCTV can be viewed live or stored in a Digital Video Recorder (DVR) for later viewing and evidence recording..

PTZ cameras have pan, tilt and zoom functionality and can be programmed to view many different areas by moving from one area to another for set periods.  Some  PTZ cameras can be programmed to detect and follow movement.  This type of camera is used by monitoring stations allowing the monitoring technician to manipulate the camera by remote control. Images are recorded by the DVR.

SmartAlarm Technology have a new camera that is remotely controlled and viewed from your mobile phone SmartCAM

The clarity of the images on CCTV cameras depends to great degree on the number of TV Lines (TVL) the camera produces.  As a general rule, the more TV L the better the image.  Cameras with 520 TVL will produce better images than those with 420 TVL.

Our range of CCTV cameras are affordable for home owners as well as business users.  As not all cameras are created equal we will evaluate and provide you with the right camera for the your particular need.

Businesses can utilise CCTV to reduce shrinkage

Shrinkage is the difference between the number of products purchased compared to the number of products sold and is an increasing problem throughout the world.  According to ECR Australasia Loss Prevention Report, within Australasia industry stock loss categories fall into four broad areas
  • Internal theft (employee theft) 22%
  • External theft (shoplifting)  31%
  • Process failure 38%
  • Supplier fraud 9%.

This means a significant amount of product is moving away from your business leaving you in deficit.  An investment of at least one camera and DVR in your premises allows you to defend yourself against shoplifting and dishonest employees.  It enables you to detect and document intrusion as well as monitor merchandise and business processes.

Although primarily known for their use in security, CCTV security cameras are often used to enhance company performance and health and safety.  By monitoring production processes and quality control, employers are able to identify staffing needs and maintain consistent customer service.
